Porcelanosa is a high-end ceramic tile manufacturer and distributor with a huge warehouse in Watford. Due to their thriving business, the warehouse had been extended with more packing lines, which needed high-definition CCTV coverage to monitor the production lines and ensure that everyone was working safely. Using access equipment and localised switches, the DIGITAL CCTV install team braved the high cable routes to provide the customer with the viewing positions they needed.
Airline hangers are always high-security, and most premises are split into safe side and airside. Of course, this boundary changes constantly due to airline or storage needs. In this case, Monarch Airlines needed to permit only certain employees into the airside and to do so efficiently.
The DIGITAL CCTV projects team agreed that speed gates were the best solution, providing a seamless access route while looking sleek. Integrating with the existing PAXTON access control system was a very simple process, which meant the site could have instant control over this high risk area.
After Buckingham Foods was taken over by Adelie Foods, we were tasked with upgrading the CCTV systems at both the Milton Keynes and Wembley sites. The existing systems were dated analogue and barely functioning. The DIGITAL CCTV install team proposed nearly 100 IP networked cameras at each site and carried out the installation efficiently.
The camera coverage was designed to cover all high-risk areas and to provide the security team with the ability to track people on-site if required. However, the main task for the CCTV was to monitor the production of the food, particularly sandwiches. High-resolution HIKVISION cameras were installed directly above the food lines, which followed the entire production process in real time. When tasked with providing real-time images, the network infrastructure is key. Here, screened EXCEL CAT6 cabling with specialist HIKVISION gigabit uplink switches was installed.
This high-risk food production site required robust access controls mixed with HD video surveillance to monitor employees while on-site at all times. Once on-site through access-controlled turnstiles, it was important to monitor behaviours within the high-risk areas of changing before entering food production.
GROVESNOR security management software was the perfect fit as we could reuse existing HID hardware while expanding the system. Through ONVIF we could also program alarms and triggers through the software between the access control doors and PANASONIC CCTV cameras and recorders. Providing a real-time alert for the health and safety team on-site.
This city centre office block car park was open to employees only. However, as there wasn’t any security in place, anybody could drive in and park for the day. Considering its central location, this had been happening more and more often, meaning that employees were having to pay for on-street parking instead.
This simple combination of a Barrier, Intercom, and ANPR camera was introduced to allow the free flow of any employee registered within the system while alerting reception to any visitor arrival via the intercom. Due to the CAME barrier’s location being detached from the building, a high-strength UBIQUITI Wi-Fi link was installed to send and receive data between the two buildings, which was integral for the operation of the entire system.
This site, within the proposed HS2 route, was used to store the construction vehicles and materials for their work. Due to the high-value nature of these items, a high-spec perimeter detection system was required because open fields surrounded the location. Some thefts and trespassing had already been happening, so getting the DIGITAL CCTV install team on-site quickly was important. Combining DAHUA cameras, OPTEX PIR detectors and TOA Horn Speakers, we secured a perimeter and reported any intrusion back to the monitoring station. Having additional PTZ functionality enabled the officers to confirm the type of intruder before any site announcements were made.
A really quick turnaround on this job, no thanks to the Digital CCTV install team working extra hours!
This project was interesting for the DIGITAL CCTV projects team. This was an office renovation where the landlord wanted to keep costs down and utilise any existing cabling. In this case, the coax ran from each camera location to the recording equipment. To provide an HD image over coax, we utilised the Power Over Coax technology used by HIKVISION. This saves the customer on new cabling and power supplies for the camera. In this case, it worked with fantastic results.
As this site would have separate clients on each office floor, they needed a system that could be managed remotely and entry programmed when required. It was the perfect solution with PAXTON intercom products and the NET2 platform.
This local authority property in central Bedford was in need of a CCTV system due to the increasing number of anti-social behaviour cases within the area. Mostly due to tenants allowing non-tenants to access the building. With recent reports of old cameras being vandalised and damaged, we needed a solution that could defend against such behaviour. Thanks to SSP Direct, who supplied the vandal-resistant wire cages to protect each camera. The system was also made available remotely to be managed and viewed while not on-site.
A successful installation by the DIGITAL CCTV install team has ensured that any future incidents are evidenced and ultimately eliminated.
This hotel had a mixture of analogue and IP CCTV, and it was now time to step away from analogue and increase the efficiency of this system. It also had some outdated PANASONIC network cameras, which were very limited in configuration and, therefore, draining the system’s bandwidth and burning through the storage. Replacing these with HIKVISION network cameras allowed the team to utilise H265+ to increase the storage capacity by 50% without any HDD increase.
This project tested the team’s specification knowledge as many cameras were being used. The Dual Directional Panovu camera increased the customer’s coverage by 50% while utilising the single data cable in place and saving any costs on running more cables.
This hotel within the centre of Bristol had a new need to secure rear access to the building due to the recent increase in takeaway food orders and deliveries. That’s where the Digital CCTV projects team came in and installed a HIKVISION access control system with an integrated intercom. These intercoms would call directly to the kitchen to alert them the drivers had arrived, and they could use the monitor interface to communicate with them. Safe to say, the kitchen team were delighted at not having to trek the three storeys to see who was at the door.
In addition to these works, the camera in reception needed an upgrade, so we went with the HIKVISION fisheye, which would provide a possible 15 different views along with audio. With a lot of engineering work here, the team did fantastically and managed to bring this one in within the three days allowed. Great work!
